About: The aim of the hotel building in Druskininkai was to create a contextual contemporary architecture resort complex. The emphasis is on the unique quality of the existing urban fabric (building lines, perspectives, preserving an existing morphology), search of a consistent scale (volumes are visually split) and recovery of the inherent materials (wood construction, finishing). Exclusive expression feature appears as a semantically interpreted and stylized silver pine motif – recognizable in the sign of the city, the natural environment and the proposed building´s function as well as structure.
