About: Reconstruction that lasted 10 years to complete. And
the reason for that is that the building was never fully
closed during the reconstruction. “Pylimas”
(“Embankment”) is an arched form building, covered
with green colour shutters that imitate an embankment
with plants around the building, which is inherent in fort
architecture. This idea was realized 30 years ago in the
museum’s initial project of fort customization, however,
the museum had to eventually refuse artificially pitched
slope with natural grass due to imperfect technologies
of that time.
