About: The exhibition´s aim is to reveal the powerful
transformation of Kaunas into a modern, elegant,
European capital, while concentrating content into a
compact, monumental object that would be able to fit
neatly into different exhibition spaces. The black
exposition surface bends and leads the visitor from the
outside towards an interior space. Culmination of the
journey is the illuminated disc floating behind the
curtain - a reference to the interior of the well-known
Ilyin´s house (architect Arnas Funkas), and also a
reference to coexistence of modernity and the
bourgeois comfort side by side.
