About: A building that was set ablaze in 2014 during intense battles in the streets of Mariupol is reborn as a new cultural space in town. Preserving the main facades only and painting
them white, symbolizes a blank page, a new beginning. A contemporary image based on the values of freedom and democracy is created by utilizing large planes of transparent
glass, aluminum and steel. The corner of the building is emphasized by an elevator-beacon, which resonates with historic Mariupol’s building and becomes a lighthouse for a port
of culture both locally and internationally.
