About: 1st place winner, technical project in progress.
The bridge and the access spaces work as an ensemble
of three public spaces that are set in a sensitive natural
environment of the river. The peak of the scenario is a
panoramic green terrace on the bridge. Left bank, Vingis
park side is introduced with a triangular green square,
with paths snaking around the old trees. On the right
bank we find and old Uzvingis island, that is
reinterpreted as a new park with a bridge in its
epicentre, thus keeping the natural character of the
landscape uninterrupted by the new hard infrastructure.
