About:
The urban-architectural idea of the bridge is based on
the unique features of the place - the bridge connects
the shores, where different architectural expressions
and scaled parts of the city meet: the green Žvėrynas
shore with historical spirit and the city center formed by
high contemporary architecture. The moderately
growing bridge structure is respectful of the Žvėrynas
smaller scale cityscape, and the vertical dominant is
integral in the panorama and volumetric composition of
the Vilnius gate and the urban hill. In a symbolic sense,
the bridge becomes Neris gateway to the city center.
