About: Smilgu house is a compact, monumental and modern
building where functional rationalism is compatible with
aesthetics of the exclusive interior space. Facades of
exotic timber cladding contrasts with light surfaces
extending inner walls and ceiling attract viewer‘s glance
into the lush interior.
More enclosed northern facade is oriented towards the
main entrance from a street. Meanwhile, the southern
side is open to recreational courtyard creating a link
between the inside and natural environment. A huge
glass wall is moved inside to create a shadow and a
shelter for the terrace spaces.
